Hernia Surgery (Laparoscopic Hernia Repair)
A hernia occurs when tissue inside the abdomen pushes through a weak spot in the muscle, often forming a lump that may come and go and can cause discomfort. Hernias tend to enlarge over time and do not heal on their own, with some progressing to serious complications such as incarceration or strangulation. Surgical Hernia repair is recommended to relieve Hernia symptoms and prevent these potentially dangerous complications. A hernia surgery is most commonly performed as keyhole surgery but sometimes will require an open surgical approach.
