There are 11 Operating Theatres equipped to provide the most innovative care using the latest technology, including hybrid theatres and robotic surgery. A full range of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology procedures are available onsite.
Dr David Joseph operates regularly at The Mater Hospital where he holds the position of Head of Department - Gastrointestinal Surgery. Complex liver and pancreatic surgical procedures, as well as laparoscopic gallbladder, hernia, and weight loss surgery is undertaken at The Mater Hospital.
There is a large and highly advanced intensive care unit, and nursing care is provided by the highly experienced team in the operating theatres, intensive care and wards.
The operating rooms have the most advanced equipment available including both ultrasonic dissection systems for hepatic transection, as well as the most modern laparoscopic equipment. Intraoperative ultrasound is available and used for liver surgery.
